When Life gets Crazy, I Turn on Superstar
A predictable story is always a welcome break.
The past two weeks have been chaotic. I moved countries and moving out of my hometown with my fiancé into a new town and home. I’m adjusting from living with one cat for the past six years to living with a man, two kids, and three cats. Not bad for my first week back in my home country.
This next month doesn’t look like it’s going to calm down any time soon. Between moving house, and attending weddings, and Halloween I’ll be running all over the place. And I have to fit buying a car into this chaos!
No matter how chaotic things get for me, I’ve got the constant of my favorite movie, Superstar.
What is Superstar?
Back in the ‘90s, Saturday Night Live had a series of movies. They were from their most famous sketches, like Coneheads, or A Night at the Roxbury.
In 1998, I was eleven years old and visiting my grandma. My grandma Elaine and I loved to see the latest movies. When we weren’t making trips to the Toledo Zoo, we went to the mall to find a good movie.
That was the first time I saw Superstar. From then on, I became so obsessed with this movie that I’ve nearly memorized the whole movie today.
