Two Women Are Running For Governor In Michigan
It’s not what I expected
November is coming. In Michigan, it means our governor’s up for election. And for the first time, two women are on the ballot. Michigan isn’t alone. Five other states have two female candidates competing in November.
I’m not wasting time telling you who these two women are. We already know who they are and what they’re about by now. And I can’t make an unbiased article no matter how hard I try.
I thought we’d get over some things with two women running for office. It’s not the case. I’m disappointed, but I’m not surprised.
It’s 2022, And People Still Think A Candidate’s Looks Entice Voters
Am I the odd one out in this? I don’t give a fuck what my representative looks like. They’re fine with me if they’re doing their job and not corrupting themselves.
But anything I hear about Tudor Dixon is about how she’s a “younger, hotter version of Gretchen Whitmer.” It’s usually Republicans spewing that garbage.
How does Dixon being pretty help anything? Is batting her eyes going to fix roads? Will a pretty smile ensure I still have fundamental rights as a woman?
