Days after writing an article bitching about the application, the beta version launches. Today, I received an email inviting me to apply.

Part of me got paranoid the government reads my shit. Maybe they’re spying on people like me. I have no idea why they’d be interested in me. Despite the slight paranoia, I said, “About time!” and applied.

It’s The Easiest Application I’ve Ever Filled Out

Seriously. I thought I’d have to make a new account for student aid, since I forgot mine. And my phone number’s changed since I set up the account.

I signed up to get emailed updates. So when the beta application launched, I could click on the link and apply. If you’re not a patient person, you can click on this link for the beta application.

You don’t need any paperwork proving your income. You don’t need invoices proving you had a Pell Grant. You’ll need these simple things.

  • Social Security Number
  • Phone number
  • Email address
