I’m Scared for My Home State
I hope they make the same choice they did in 2016
Today is Michigan’s primary election. The one that could boost Joe Biden so far ahead, it could be impossible for Bernie to catch up. Or, it could give Bernie the boost he needs to keep the election neck and neck between him and Biden.
In 2016, Bernie won Michigan. It was one of the biggest wins in his campaign in 2016. It’s also the state that turned red when Hilary won the nomination.
The last time Michigan turned red was in 1988 when George H.W. Bush was running for president.
Let me make something clear. I’m not hoping Michigan goes red again. I’d be sick to my stomach if it did that. I’m hoping the other states help Bernie get enough votes he can get ahead of Biden.
And, of course, I’m hoping Bernie wins Michigan once again.
Then he has a better chance of winning the Democratic nomination.
There’s no guarantee Bernie’s going to win Michigan again this year. I can hope, but I’m not so sure.
This time, I’m worried
Michigan isn’t the only state having an election today, but it is the state with the most delegates. Whoever wins the election can have as many as 125 delegates.
