I’m Getting Tired Of Looking At “Travel” Instagrams

I mentioned many times before the only reason I keep Instagram on my phone is to look at the pretty pictures. Sometimes, I see gorgeous images of places I visited and others on my travel list. It gives me ideas for when the world opens up again.

Lately, I’m starting to wonder if it’s time to do an Instagram purge. I love looking at all of these travel accounts, but now they’re beginning to look the same.

Here’s the thing. It’s not that they’re all random girls in bikinis that I’m bored with seeing. It doesn’t look like a realistic version of a vacation.

Do you know what I want to see? I want to see more pictures of people who looked like they rolled out of bed enjoying a fantastic book on the plane! Hell, I want to see the books travelers bring when it’s time to wind down after a long day! Show me the famous dishes in travel destinations! Show me as many shady hotels as luxury hotels!

To me, these kinds of pictures are more interesting than luxury travel pictures. I’d rather see budget travel tips than swimsuit pictures.

But hey! That’s me. I’ve never been interested in the glamorous life. If you like these kinds of pictures, keep looking for those Instagram accounts. They’re not for me.
