I Don’t Think I’ll Watch Squid Game Any Time Soon
The older I get, the less I want to watch shows with excessive violence. When I watched Those Who Wish Me Dead, I was turned off at the violence towards women. Seriously, if you watch that show again, there’s something about it that bothers me. Every woman on screen is killed or a victim of excessive violence.
So what does that have to do with Squid Game? It’s not as realistically violent as Those Who Wish Me Dead. From what I’ve been told, it’s Kill Bill style. It’s supposed to be humorous and excessive.
It’s not realistic. Yet, I’m not interested in watching it. It’s not only the violence that turns me off from watching it. I feel like I’d be proving a point.
Hear me out. Or, read me out since you’re reading this. My partner watched Squid Game, and he told me about it. People are playing games and dying for money for the entertainment of rich, fat Americans. That’s how he described it. Hearing that makes me not want to watch the show. The way I see it, watching it proves a point.
What point, you ask? If we all had a chance, we’d be entertained watching people die horrible deaths for money. Look at shows like Survivor, Hells Kitchen, Top Chef, or Love Island. And America’s Top Model, too! The people on the shows go through a lot for prize money.
