I Could See My College Debt Wiped Out By The End Of December

I never thought I’d see this happen

I’m in shock. Of all the people to forgive student debt, I never expected Joe Biden to be the guy to do it. I always thought it’d be Sanders or Warren.

It’s nice when someone proves you wrong. Biden stepped up and forgave $10,000 in federal loans to all Americans making less than $125,000 a year (Married couples making less than $250,000 are eligible too.). If you received Pell Grants, you’d get up to $20,000 in loan forgiveness.

The moratorium on payments got extended until December 31st. It’ll help make the to debt forgiveness smoother.

I’ve been checking my account every day since the announcement. So far, I haven’t seen my balance drop, but I’m waiting patiently. From what I’ve read, it could take a few weeks before one of two things happens.

  • I’m one of the eight million Americans whose debt gets automatically erased.
  • Or I’ll need to fill out an application when it uploads in the next few weeks.

As of this article, it’s been a few days since the announcement. I’m still checking every day.

Here’s My Situation
