How Can Someone Become A Sex Educator?
The rise in certified sex educators online has me curious
I’m noticing something interesting on the internet lately. More and more people are going on YouTube and TikTok and talking about being a sex educator.
I found a ton of articles citing the Netflix show Sex Education as the reason for a rise in sex educators. I can see why. I watched that show this past winter, and it was one of the more fascinating shows I’d seen in a long time. Though I don’t have Netflix now, I’ll have to find a way to get the third season.
It’s awesome seeing more sex educators on the internet. So few Americans know much about their bodies or sex because of various reasons. Maybe they came from a school with a strict, abstinence-only policy. Or they could’ve had deeply religious parents who saw sex as nothing more than a necessary tool to make more babies. Some of us get nervous about saying proper body part names. Sometimes people confuse one body part with another.
It’s alarming how to people from neighboring school districts can have a different sex education. It’s alarming how often one school’s information can contradict another’s.
