Blooming flower
petals falling
wind is blowing
them away.
They don’t care
because they’re free
floating, flying
through the wind.
Past the fields
and through the trees.
Curious children
catch and hold one
then let it free
with their own breath
to wipe the tear
of a heartbroken lover
weeping for the one
that’s left them.
Wind is fading,
petal falling
to by carried by water
as it rests.

My mom finally got all of my stuff out of her house, and I’ve been slowly going through it. I found two journals from high school filled with song quotes, poetry, and my friends’ drooling over random boys.

I’m not sure which I liked less, the poetry or the random bits about random boys.
