After ten years, I still don’t understand how Vince Vaughn was funny. Comedy Central had a man-child theme for their movie marathons this weekend. For me, they were a literal blast from the past. The movies the channel had were some of my favorites: Wedding Crashers, Old School, The Internship, and Couples Retreat.

Do you know what all of these movies had in common? Vince Vaughn. He and Owen Wilson had some great buddy comedy movies, but not because of Vince. Seeing him on the screen now, I wonder why I thought he was funny. He doesn’t shut up and makes weird noises the whole time. How is this funny?

At the time, I’m sure I laughed. But now, I find a lot of these movies annoying. Am I getting older and more cynical? Or am I finally able to acknowledge he was never funny in the first place?
